Ronald McDonald House Charities

In Alpha Delta Pi, we believe that philanthropy is top priority. In 1979, Alpha Delta Pi adopted the Ronald McDonald House as its national philanthropy. The Ronald McDonald House provides a safe haven for families with ill children who are far away from home and receive treatment from nearby hospitals. Specifically, our chapter is dedicated to supporting the Ronald McDonald House in Johnson City, Tennessee. Monthly, our sisters travel to cook dinner for the families, clean parts of the house, decorate for the holidays or just enjoy the company of the current residents and their families! Ronald McDonald House Charities truly holds a special place in the hearts of all of our sisters.

In 2016, we hosted our first annual Roses for Ronald philanthropy event. For this event, students came and bought roses for someone during the week of Valentines Day. Not only was the Greek community involved, but many students and faculty not affiliated in a Greek organization stepped up to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

This past spring, we also hosted our second "Cheese Fries with ADPi's" event. During this philanthropy event, we sold tickets to students to redeem them for cheese fries with their choice of toppings. Our chapter was able to raise over $5,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation.

In addition, Zeta Mu hosts semiannual pop tab drives where we collect pop tabs from different organizations on campus all week long for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The pop tabs that we collect are then converted into money in order to help Ronald McDonald House; Advantage Metals, Ronald McDonald House's local recycler, purchases the tabs and makes a donation.
